Doha, March 21, 2017: Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company received the CSR leadership award in recognition to its leading part in that field at a ceremony hosted by Qatar University to launch the CSR Report, ‘the National Book’ – Qatar 2016. The award ceremony was held in the presence of HE Salah Bin Ghanim Al-Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports who received “the CSR person of the Year 2016” award.
Marwan Azar Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication received the award from Dr. Hasan Al Derham, President of Qatar University on behalf HE Sheikh Nasser bin Ali bin Saud Al Thani, Chairman who stated in an article in the CSR Report 2016 highlighting its contributions to the community over the past year: “CSR represents one of the major priorities of Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company. The company is keen to support the social development activities of the State of Qatar, such as in sports and arts. It also contributes each year in raising awareness towards local issues by participating in national and charity support events. Besides playing a strong and positive role in the surrounding areas of its operations; cooperating with various individuals and groups to help improve the communities”.
