Hassan Al-Efrangi holds a university degree in financial management. With more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, Mr. Al-Efrangi has significant business management capabilities and has extensive leadership experience, performance improvement and growth. He has worked in Al Ahli Bank, where he has been in various positions including Credit and Branch Management, Risk Management (Retail Sector), Head of Branch Network and Head of the Retail Sector, then Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Jamal Abu Nahl leads the Group’s insurance and investment operations. Mr. Abu Nahl has more than 30 years’ experience in business, investments and related fields, including project development. Towards the end of 2008, he successfully spearheaded the Group’s reorganization into a holding company.
Mr. Abdallah Barrage is Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Qatar General Holding Company (QGH). Mr. Barrage spearheaded the restructuring of the Group through the segregation of core insurance activity and investment operations, and contributed towards the establishment of Qatar General Holding Company (QGH) and General Real Estate Company (GRECO). He also serves as Director representing QGIRCO on the board of several associated companies. Mr. Barrage is a highly respected figure in the local and regional financial markets, a reputation he earned through more than 35 years of his extended banking career in the region.
Mr. Georges Wakim has been appointed as the Group Head of Legal Department from 2014, and since then has significantly contributed towards building a robust new strategy and management to the Legal Department of Qatar General Group in compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. In addition to his legal functions, Mr. Wakim oversees the implementation and reinforcement of best practices of corporate governance in the group, cultivating a culture towards a greater disclosure and transparency in his capacity as the Contact Person with Qatar Central Bank, Qatar Financial Markets Authority, Qatar Stock Exchange and Qatar Central Securities Depository. Moreover, Mr. Wakim serves as a Board Member in several companies representing the Board Membership of Qatar General Group. Mr. Wakim is an MBA graduate, and a lawyer member of the Beirut Bar Association and a certified member of the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom.
Deepa Chandrashekar has over 23 years' experience in finance and accounting across three different continents and industries, including oil and gas, insurance, farming, not for profit, and financial services. She is a fellow member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK; and a Chartered Professional Accountant from Canada. Additionally, she is a fellow member of the Insurance Institute of India
Insurance Management Team
Before joining Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance Company in 2013, Mr. Maurizio Colautti spent more than 30 years with Italy's largest insurance company – Assicurazioni Generali. He worked across Italy and the UK as the Head of the Generali Global, with responsibility for corporate customers and the Group's engineering portfolio. Mr. Colautti champions loss prevention techniques. His team supports customers across Qatar in risk awareness and prevention measures.
Mr. Satheesan Menon joined Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance Company in 2010, and oversees our insurance division's operations. Previously, Mr. Menon belonged to management teams at several insurance companies, including Abu Dhabi National Insurance Co, Trust Re in Bahrain, and New India Assurance Company.
Mr. Nedal Ali Hafez Hamoud joined QGIRCO in 1992 and is responsible for the company’s reinsurance operations. Having previously worked within the accounting and finance domain, Mr. Hamoud holds a Diploma in Accounting from the Arab Community College, Jordan and a CII-recognized Professional Insurance Certificate from BIBF, Bahrain.
Zaki Bsaiso is the Employee Benefits Department Manager at QGIRCO, responsible for all the operations of Medical and Life Insurance. He joined the team in 2013. Mr. Bsaiso has 20 years’ experience in the health insurance industry and third party administration services (TPA), specialising in medical underwriting, product development, reinsurance treaties and account management. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Public Administration and Political Science from the University of Jordan.
Mr. Jehad Elghuleh joined the QGIRCO in 2014. He has over 17 years' experience across the Middle East. Mr. Elghuleh leads his team to ensure the highest levels of customer service standards and efficient back office procedures.
Mr. Michael Shehan has more than 17 years' experience in underwriting and claims management operations. Mr. Shehan is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and charted Insurer, United Kingdom; a Fellow and Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, ANZIIF, Australia.
